80,000 sq ft new construction. Redevelopment of existing Shopping Park
The refurbishment and part redevelopment of Abbey Wood Shopping Park has been successfully completed, with Rowney Sharman acting as the Client’s Project Managers, Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyors and providing Tenant liaison.
A substantial piece of public art was commissioned in conjunction with the Planning Authority which has been positioned to provide a welcoming and attractive invitation into the centre.
Anchored by a new 45,000 sq.ft Asda food store and with landscaping features to create a “sense of place” for local community with local public art, this development provides a mixed use development with retail, restaurants, management centre and community use space.
The new public realm space provides excellent opportunity to embrace the outdoor seating areas provided by the park and tenants. A new link bridge to the southern boundary of the site affords easy pedestrian access from Filton Station and the adjacent MOD office. The new canopy to the existing northern terrace has ensured the whole park has been improved.
Our role was central to the collective success of the team and project throughout the planning, design, procurement and construction phases. Direct liaison with all Tenants (existing and new) and the construction / design teams ensured the collaborative Team success.
