About This Project

The brownfield site at Northgate Bridgwater is the former swimming pool / leisure centre in the heart of Bridgwater. Sedgemoor District Council are developing the site into a 750 seat, 7 screen cinema with 5 complimentary restaurants; the third part of a site masterplan that also includes a school and food store. The 41,000 sq.ft scheme is due to Open late 2021.

The design has been developed to create two complimentary buildings, offering maximum flexibility for future occupation; all integrating with the local park which will be upgraded as part of the external works programme and overall area masterplan.

The Role

Enborne Project Consultancy were invited to join the project under the SCF Framework team brought together by Corstorphine & Wright Architects. As construction Project Managers we have been instrumental in developing a workable design, agreeing the technical specification with the cinema operator and procuring the most appropriate Principal Contractor under a framework competition. The role has included close attention to both construction and overall development project costs in an ever challenging retail trading environment.
